I’d like share with you the Power of His amazing grace.
In the Old Testament there are two types of grace. The first we see grace noted at the very beginning. In Genesis 6:8, Noah found grace in the eyes of God. This type of grace means to bend down and give kindness to one who is inferior”. This form of grace is noted 37 times and only in the Old Testament. We see grace used one other time in the Old Testament and that is located in the book of Ezra 9:8 and it was used to “grant a favor”.
Now, when we look in the New Testament there is only one form of grace noted. One definition and it’s used 128 times.
In the original Greek it is pronounced Kharis.
Definition: God’s Spirit giving divine influence on a heart and this divine influence reflecting in the receiver’s life. It also simultaneously means that it is holy gift that is extended in favor making us acceptable & to joyfully receive it.
Let’s break down this grace definition a bit:
- What is the definition of favor? Answer: Something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or as a reward
- What makes us acceptable to receive grace? Answer: Grace
- How does grace make us feel to receive it? Answer: Joyful
- What Divine mean: Answer: God like
- What does Holy mean? Answer: Perfectly pure, consecrated, set apart, hallowed
- What does extended mean? Answer: To stretch out & wide spread
- What does Acceptable mean? Answer: Capable & worthy
Based upon the above questions and their answers let us infuse these answers into the definition of grace. It will be easier to understand.
Gods Holy Spirit gives “God Like” influence on my heart and your heart and this “God Like” influence reflects in our lives. It also simultaneously means that it is a “perfectly pure and hallowed” gift that God “stretch’s out & in wide spread good-will rather than justice”, making us “worthy & capable to joyfully receive it”.
God’s grace is a holy treasure gifted to us at the moment we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and from every moment in our life moving forward. God is Omni present right? … So is grace.
In 2 Timothy 1:9 we learn that grace existed before time began.
Grace is our power source. The power that makes us capable. The power that infuses God like influence in our daily life and to joyfully reflect Him to our world.
Are you tired of only marginally succeeding in your daily Christian life? You need to plug into the power of grace.
Grace is our 3.0 power plug in or should I say Grace is our 3.0 Trinity app. No need to download it, you already have it.
Think about this:
What would you accomplish in your immediate circle of influence and how would your sphere of influence morph and change as you focus and allow grace to reflect and fill you with joy?
Let me tell you, what God has already planned in your life is far bigger and masterful than anything you could wrap your head around. What God has started He will be faithful to complete it. Are you?
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJ) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
We need to lay claim to 2 Corinthians 12:9. Try reading it aloud. After “Therefore I” insert your name.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I, (your name) will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
1 Corinthians 15:75 (NKJ) But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
No matter our struggle yesterday, today, or tomorrow we need to stand tall and claim victory because we already have it.
1 Corinthians 15:10 (NKJ) But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I that worked, but the grace of God that was with me.
See? Grace provides us the power to live a Christ-centered life. The more we are plugged in to Grace the less we sin and fall short. By staying plugged in God continues to transform us into His image, becoming more like Christ, but you also become more of the “you” He made you to be from the very beginning.
