Slice of Grace Today began with a constant heavenly whisper and me scared and unsure blindly stepping out in faith. No longer ignoring what God was pushing me to do.
I now know what Jonah may have felt when God was telling him to go where he did not want to go. I couldn’t continue my “Jonah” response. I knew that if I did, metaphorically speaking, I may have ended up in the belly of a great fish!
Here is the reason for my hesitation. Condemnation is a heavy weight that will render you inactive spiritually. I knew God forgives daily but, I had to forgive myself of the sins I made as a Christian to feel and experience the freedom I already had in Christ.
Why is it so hard to accept that Christ forgives but find it hard to forgive ourselves? Well, that is right where the deceiver wants us to be; Spiritually inactive and living a defeated Christian life.
I realized that as a believer, we all are a “Hot Mess” that’s why we are Christians. We knew we needed saving. What I am personally thankful for is that God brings beauty out of the ashes in our life. We are called to be bold in our brokenness.
God uses imperfect people to do his most magnificent work. Through this discovery of redemptive freedom, God opened my eyes to his empowering gift of grace.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV).
All you have to be is willing. You have the strength and power.
I am no longer a defeated Christian. I live free. I live everyday – Christ first… leading me by the power of His amazing grace.
